Mies & Modernism: The IIT Campus

The Illinois Institute of Technology is home to the largest group of buildings designed by Mies van der Rohe. This tour traces the evolution of the campus with a special emphasis on the years 1938–1958—the period when Mies was head of the School of Architecture. In addition to visiting Crown Hall, the tour visits more recent projects, including the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (Rem Koolhaas), the State Street Village residence hall (Helmut Jahn), and the new Kaplan Institute (John Ronan Architects).
