Registration

What is the early bird deadline?
Early bird rates are available through April 13.

What is the advance deadline?
Advance rates are available through June 1.

How do I make changes to my registration?
Log in to your registration record to add or modify programs (seminars, tours, and events) or register a guest or colleague. If your change requires a payment adjustment, email customer service or call (864) 342 6385.

How long do I have to complete my registration?
Once you begin registration, you have 24 hours to complete it. After 24 hours your registration record will still be available. However, the programs you selected will no longer be in your cart. NOt available with the Expo Pass and the Event Pass.

Please note: You must register for any sessions you’d like to attend to reserve your seat. This includes keynotes, seminars, tours, and events.

I’m a member but I didn’t receive the member rate when I registered

I’m a new AIA member. Am I eligible for a discounted ticket?
Yes. New AIA members who join between August 20, 2021, and June 25, 2022, can register for $99. Tours and some events carry an additional charge. View details >

How to use it: Log in to conference registration as an AIA member. Select the “New Member” package. Your shopping cart will display $99 for your package price.

Are other discounts available?
Yes. In addition to early bird pricing, new AIA members, Associate AIA members, Emeritus members, students, and AIAS members are eligible for an additional discount. See if you’re eligible >

How do I register a guest?
Once you select your registration package, you’ll have the option to add guests. A guest is a family member, friend, or child of a registered attendee. Business associates and staff colleagues must register separately.

If you register for a Platinum Pass, you can add your guest during registration or share your unique promo code to register an Associate member.

Do I need to register my spouse if I’m receiving an award?
If your spouse is only attending the awards celebration, you can purchase their event ticket during registration. If they’d like to attend keynotes or check out the expo floor, please register them as a guest.

When will I receive my badge?
We’ll send you an email confirmation closer to the event. Bring this email confirmation to the registration area at McCormick Place (Tuesday through Saturday), the Sheraton Grand Chicago (Tuesday through Saturday), or the Hyatt Regency Chicago (Tuesday through Friday), where you’ll print your badge. Registration hours for each location will be listed in the A’22 app.

What’s the cancellation policy?

Due to COVID-19, we have updated our cancellation policy to give A’22 attendees additional support and flexibility. Our new early bird offer includes risk-free registration. Register by our early bird deadline, April 13, 2022, and you’ll receive a full refund if you need to cancel your registration for any reason, through June 20, 2022.

If you register between April 14–June 1, we’ll refund your registration fees, less a $75 service fee. Cancellation requests must be received in writing before June 1.

No refunds will be given to individuals that register after June 1 or to no-shows.

What are the COVID-19 guidelines & policies for A’22?
Creating a safe environment is our highest priority. We’ll continue to update our attendee requirements page with the latest guidelines and information.

Seminars, tours, & events

Do I need to register for keynotes or sessions? 
Yes. You must register for every session you’d like to attend to reserve your seat. Many sessions sell out quickly. We recommend registering early for the sessions you plan to attend to get your top picks.

I registered for the sessions I want to attend. How do I claim my seat on-site?
Show up to the classroom 15 minutes before the session starts. Scan your name badge to enter and claim your seat. 10 minutes before a session begins, we’ll release unclaimed seats on a first-come, first-seated basis. Unfortunately, we cannot hold reserved seats for late arrivals.

Is there a waitlist for sold-out sessions?
No. We recommend checking the online schedule to see if seats open up. At the event, you can wait at the classroom entrance or tour departure desk to see if an unclaimed seat becomes available.

What is A’22 Virtual Ed?
A’22 Virtual Ed is a one-day virtual event that we’re hosting July 28. It includes 15 additional seminars not otherwise available and live chat and Q&A with the session presenters. This option is automatically included with the Platinum and Gold passes. It is not available with the Expo and Event Passes. Add it on to any other pass.

Is there free Wi-Fi in the convention center?
Yes. Free basic Wi-Fi is available throughout McCormick Place.
